The five pillars for a healthier and fitter life
Live healthy, feel fit, look good. These are goals that most of us pursue and even when we have achieved one of them, we want to make sure it stays that way.
To achieve these goals, there should be several prerequisites that form the foundation of long-term health and fitness. We have defined these as the five EVO pillars:
- Strength
Strength has many meanings. For one person, it's carrying the groceries home or hauling boxes during a move. For someone else, it means being able to lift 100kg. But they all have one thing in common: being able to move objects. Strength gives us self-confidence, strength helps us to manage our everyday life without pain, strength makes us beautiful and sexy.
2. Mobility
Flexibility and mobility help you move to your fullest potential and are an important basis for exercising regularly. Flexibility training protects you from injuries and helps you to warm up and mobilize properly before training. Furthermore, you can relax your body better after training and regenerate faster. Flexibility keeps your joints healthy and lets you train better.
3. Endurance
Cardiovascular training is good for your health and strengthens the immune system. With endurance training you can train many muscle groups at the same time. In addition, endurance sports such as running, cycling or swimming reduce stress hormones, put you in a good mood and allow you to adjust your training intensity to your individual needs and goals.
4. Speed
Speed describes the ability to perform movements with the highest possible velocity. But speed is more than just sprinting. With speed training you can test your limits and work on your goals. By moving fast, you strengthen your coordination and can better build strength, which in turn helps you move healthily and pain-free.
5 Coordination
Coordination is the interaction of nerves and muscles. Our nervous system communicates with our muscles and transmits the important information so that we learn a movement. Coordination is the basic prerequisite for executing movements correctly and thus preventing injuries and being healthy and efficient in the long term. Examples of coordination training are balance or stability exercises and the coordination ladder.
The five pillars are of great importance so that you feel healthy and fit in the long term and can radiate that. Other reasons for a solid foundation include injury prevention and balancing imbalances. To establish a workout routine that covers all four areas, it's important to start with a structured plan.
